Moodle — Setting Up a Free and Simple Course Management Platform

Abstract

Moodle, a free and fully scalable course management platform, has been used by Juan Seguin High School in Arlington, Texas for the past two years in the Technology Applications/Computer Science program. The platform is being extended into the Science and Social Studies programs this year.

In this four-hour session, attendees will learn how to set up this free course management platform. Attendees will move from initial set-up through course development, deployment, and finish with end-of-course closeout. As part of the session, attendees will create two courses – one for their specific subject area and one basic professional development course. Attendees will see the versatility and flexibility of this platform in all subject areas.
